Use the following procedure to test the network connection before opening Teradata QS and connecting to a Teradata Database:

Click Start and select Run.
A Run dialog box appears.

In the Open text box, type the PING command followed by the name of the Teradata Database and the COP1 suffix (for example: PING ssscop1 where sss is the Teradata Database to connect to).
If the PING command does not receive a successful response from the network, see the network administrator to determine the cause.
