This section shows how to build a Spark function, using a simple function called UserEcho (for its code, see Scala Code for the UserEcho Function). The instructions are general enough to be used for other functions, with appropriate modifications.
The instructions assume that:
- Aster Spark Connector has been installed and configured as directed in Installing the Aster Spark Connector and Configuring the Aster Spark Connector.
- If Aster and Hadoop are installed on different clusters, you have access to both clusters.
- sbt, the build tool for Scala, is installed on the cluster where you will compile the function.
