Entering TDP Commands

The TDP accepts operator commands from the z/OS console, MVS/TSO users, VOS3/TSS users, and CLIv2 applications.

As with commands entered from TDPPARM, commands entered from the console are not executed until the RUN command is executed. Messages that result from executing operator commands entered from a console are returned to the console.

Commands issued by an operator, an application, or TDP itself are recorded in the TDP joblog. When responses are written to the console or system log, sometimes the joblog is not perfectly ordered. Specifically, the command and its response can be reversed. When a START POOL command containing a logon string is echoed, all text after the LOGON operand is echoed as asterisks to prevent display of any password in the logon string.
