  • New SET TRANSFORM GROUP statement sets the transform to be used during the current session for Teradata-supplied complex data types (CDTs), such as ST_Geospatial, JSON, and XML.
  • New HelpCurrentUDTTRansform macro lists the transforms that are used during the current session for Teradata-supplied CDTs.

  • Geospatial join predicates can now support geospatial column expressions in addition to geospatial columns. (See Geospatial Predicates and the Optimizer). Supported join predicates include these new forms:
    SELECT a, b 
    FROM Table1, Table2
    WHERE Table1.GeoCol.SupportedGeoMethod(GeoColExpression)=1
    and
    SELECT a, b 
    FROM Table1, Table2
    WHERE GeoColExpression.SupportedGeoMethod(Table1.GeoCol)=1
    where at least one side of the join must be an ST_Geometry column that has a geospatial index.
  • Geospatial Statistics Collection now supports columns containing column expressions that evaluate to an ST_Geometry type in addition to ST_Geometry types themselves.
  • Geospatial Single-Table Predicates can include both a geospatial column reference and a geospatial literal expression, in either of these forms:
    SELECT a, b FROM TableName
    WHERE TableName.GeoCol.ST_SupportedGeoMethod(GeospatialLiteralExpression)=1
    or
    SELECT a, b FROM TableName
    WHERE GeospatialLiteralExpression.ST_SupportedGeoMethod(TableName.GeoCol) = 1
