All three packages can be installed on a single server, each package on a different server, or any combination in between. Base the decision about where the TARA components are installed on the availability of servers and the anticipated usage and load on those servers.
In a multiple BAR server environment:
- Install the TARA server on only one of the BAR servers.
- Install the NetBackup Access Module on every BAR server that is part of the NetBackup/TARA configuration.
- Install the Teradata TARA GUI on either or both of the sets of components that will be used as the administrative interface to TARA:
- BAR servers
- Workstations
