A lab owner or a lab group owner can submit a request to change lab details, which includes the lab description, lab instructions, email notifications, and shortening the lab expiration date. Lab users and read-only users cannot submit this type of request.
  1. Do one of the following to submit a request to change lab details:
    Option Description
    From the Monitoring tab
    1. Click next to the lab, and select Edit Lab Details.

The lab group and lab are selected for you. To change the lab group or lab, use the Requests tab to submit your request.

    From the Requests tab
    1. Click next to REQUESTS.
    2. Select Edit Lab Details from the Request type list.
    3. Select a lab group.

All lab groups appear including private lab groups where you are a user.

    4. Select the lab where you want to add an owner.

The labs that appear include those where you are a user or an owner.

  2. [Optional] Enter a new or change the existing description for the lab, up to 500 characters.
  3. [Optional] Enter new or change the existing lab instructions, up to 500 characters. Lab instructions provide guidance and best practices to help lab users. For example, provide information for loading data into objects using Teradata Data Mover or load utilities such as FastLoad or MultiLoad. Default lab instructions may have been created by the lab group owner, but you can overwrite the instructions for your specific lab.
  4. [Optional] Select the number of days (7, 14, or 30) prior to this lab expiring that an email notification is sent to the lab owners.
  5. [Optional] Enter a percentage from 1% to 99% so that, if available space becomes less than this percent, an email notification is sent to the lab owners.
  6. [Optional] Select the number of days (1, 30, 60, or 90) or type a number from 1 to 9999 and press Enter to shorten the lab expiration date. The new lab expiration date must predate the current lab expiration date. After your request has been approved, the new expiration date appears in the Expires column in the Monitoring tab.
  7. Click Submit. You will receive an email notification after your request has been approved, depending on your email notification settings.
After your request has been approved, the changes you made appear when you view lab details.
