This procedure describes how to enable Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and verify that an IP address has been assigned to the tape library.
  1. Log on to the Quantum Scalar Tape Library from the operator panel using the following credentials:
    • User name: admin
    • Password: password
  2. Select OK.
  3. Under Setup > Network Mgmt, perform the following steps to set up DHCP:
    1. Tap IP version 4 to use IPv4 IP address formatting, then select Next.
    2. Tap Use DHCP to have an IP address automatically assigned to the system, then select Apply.
    3. If an additional screen appears, read the Caution statement, then select Apply. A Progress Window appears.
    4. When Success appears, select Close.
  4. Verify an IP address has been assigned to the tape library.
    1. Verify the IP version 4 option button is activated, then select Next.
    2. Verify the IP address is displayed in the IP Address box.
    3. Select Cancel.
