Data Versioning
MDS supports the ability to retain historical copies of data objects within classes. The historical copies provide the ability to see the progression of changes made to an object after its initial creation. An application will only be allowed to modify the latest version of an object, but the earlier versions will be viewable, within the restrictions of the applicable security profile.
Versioning only applies to data objects within classes. Versioning cannot be used with the definitions of metamodels, classes, relationships, properties, users, security profiles, and application groups. Classes with LOIDs below 1000 do not support data versioning.
