Query Banding allows an application to associate metadata with each query when it is executed. Query bands enable you to set your own unique identifiers on a Teradata session, a transaction, or both (in separate requests). Each query band is a set of user or application-defined name:value pairs that the system passes to Teradata Database as a literal string. Use query bands to support administrative tasks such as debugging, workload management, grouping of requests, and more. For more information, see SQL Data Definition Language Detailed Topics.
