To send LOB data using the inline method, a typical parcel mode CLI application would perform the following tasks:
  1. Set the response mode (resp_mode) to 'M' to indicate Multipart Indicator response mode. Any other setting will result in an error condition being returned.
  2. Issue the SQL request (typically including one or more INSERTs, UPDATEs, or UPSERTs) using DBCHCL (DBFIRQ).
  3. After the request completes, retrieve the requisite parcel sequence using DBCHCL (DBFFET).
  4. Issue DBCHCL (DBFERQ) to close the request.

For an inline client to server transfer, the entire request must fit in a single TSR-request message (currently about 64K).
