Purpose

Prevents logons to one or more pools.

Syntax

where:

poolid
Unique identifier of the pool that is to be disabled.
ALL
Request that all pools be disabled.

Usage Notes

The DISABLE POOL command is used to prevent applications from logging on to pool sessions. Once a pool is disabled, any application logon request that would normally be satisfied by a session from the pool is rejected with an error code.

When a pool is disabled, any session that is in use is allowed to run until the using application logs off. At that time, the session is returned to the pool.

To enable applications to log on to pool sessions, use the ENABLE POOL command.

Example: DISABLE POOL

DISA POOL ID ACTR04

Completion Message

TDP0881 POOL ID: ACTR04 IS NOW DISABLED
