Purpose

Enables the security logon function that provides an interface to the System Authorization Facility (SAF) on z/OS client systems.

You must enable the security logon function manually either from the system console or through the TDPPARM command list. It does not automatically enable at TDP initialization like TDPLGUX, TDPUSEC, or TDPUTCE.

Syntax

where:

NOMSGS
The messages option that suppresses messages to the system console in response to logon validation failure or denied access.
MSGS
The messages option that enables messages to the system console in response to logon validation failure or denied access.
xxxxxxxx
A class for SAF processing. The default class is FACILITY.

Usage Notes

TDP responds to the ENABLE SECLOGON command with a TDP2108 message indicating the new status of the security logon function and its messages option.

SECLOGON will only work under z/OS, and only when IACMODE XMS has been selected at TDP initialization.

To use SECLOGON in a Multi-User Address Space (MUSAS) environment like CICS or IMS, obtain the security userid from the external security manager through TDPUAX, and pass that information to TDPLGUX. Once this is done TDPLGUX can direct SECLOGON to use the TDPUAX-supplied security userid for validation purposes. For more details, consult your external security manager’s documentation or contact the vendor’s technical support.
