  1. Verify JRE 1.7 is installed on the system.
  2. Verify that XL C/C++Runtime is greater than or equal to 9.0.0.0: lslpp -1 | grep -i xlc
  3. Uninstall the previous version of the Teradata MSM or EM Client package.
    1. Log on to the system as a root user.
    2. Stop the tmsmpublisher, tmsmlistener, and tmsmcontrolmasterlistener services.
    3. Run the Smitty command to start the installation utility.
    4. Select Software Maintenance and Utilities > Maintenance and Utilities and Removed Installed Software.
    5. Use the Tab or Arrow keys to enter the following values in the fields:
      Field Response
      Software name [tmsm.tmsm.rte]
      Preview only (remove operation will not occur)? No
      Remove dependent software? No
      Extend file system if space needed? No
      Detailed output? No
    6. Press Enter to confirm changes.
    7. Review the results summary. Sample output:

    8. Press F10 to exit Smitty.
