.logmech TD2
.logon  tdpid/username,password[,”account”]

where:

Syntax Element Description
TD2 The TD2 mechanism (the default) specifies Teradata authentication. The .logmech statement is optional unless another mechanism is set as the default.
tdpid The tdpid identifies the logon connection.
If logging on directly to a database system, use one of the following:
  • Database system tdpid
  • Database host group tdpid (required if using host groups)
If logging on through Unity, use one of the following:
  • Unity server tdpid
  • Unity host group tdpid (required if the Unity server is set up for host groups)
username The name of a user defined in the database.
password The password for the database username.
“account” Optional account string, which must be enclosed in double quotation marks.
