When you launch a job, the state of each stream changes during the job-launch process and is displayed in the State column of the Job-Stream Table. After the job has launched, the State column displays backup and restore information.

State Job-Launch Step Description
Connecting 1 Backup stream connects to the Appliance Backup Utility server.
Logon 2 Streams receive instructions from the Appliance Backup Utility server, then log ARC sessions onto Teradata Database.
Setup 3 Specified destination path is mounted.
Backup 4 Data is moved to the destination path designated in the configuration script. In the Bytes Processed column of the Job-Stream Table, the number of bytes increases as data is moved.
Waiting 5 One of the following occurs:
  • Child stream waits for instructions from the parent stream (Stream 1)
  • Parent stream waits for a child stream to complete the current instruction
Logoff 6 Stream closes the ARC sessions and the job ends.
B Job launch successful. (Restore only) Build phase of the restore job.
D Job launch successful. (Backup and restore) Dictionary data is backed up or restored.
T Job launch successful. (Backup and restore) Table data is backed up or restored.
