There are dflt files and logs for the ABU server and ABU client you can use for troubleshooting. Use ABULaunch to specify four levels of log debug information. Higher values provide more extensive information.

ABU Server Logfile

The Appliance Backup Utility server uses the logfile in /var/opt/teradata/abu_service/service/logs to record events for diagnostic purposes. This file is saved as logfile.prev when you restart the Appliance Backup Utility server or when the file reaches the size limit for the operating system.

ABU Client Log

The Appliance Backup Utility client uses /home/abuservice/abuclient.log to record events for diagnostic purposes. This file is overwritten when the Appliance Backup Utility restarts.

Dflt File

There are jobid.dflt files that are created in /home/abuservice when a job is launched. These intermediate files are not deleted when a job fails and are useful in troubleshooting. When a job runs successfully or completes with warnings, the dflt file is deleted.
