The Loader Connection uses the nCluster_loader utility to do target loading. In this implementation, Informatica server reads data from the source, performs transformations, and persists rows of data on local storage before transporting it to the Aster Database target. The commit size parameter setting of the Informatica session object determines how many rows of data are persisted. While running an Informatica session, after reaching this threshold, the Informatica server invokes the nCluster_loader utility. The Loader utility moves the data from the Informatica server onto the target Aster Database instance. After successful completion of Loader, the server begins to process the next batch of data until all the source records are processed.

[Windows] The Loader Connection works differently on Informatica Server instances on Windows because of a difference in the way a connection is implemented on the two platforms. The Load Connection has certain local storage implications that should be understood (needs to be allocated to the load process associated with an Informatica session object).

  1. Open the Informatica Workflow Manager.
  2. Connect to the repository.
  3. Select Connections > Loader.
  4. Select Aster nCluster Loader as the Type.
