- For a high bandwidth network (local network):
- Materialization cost improved by approximately 90%.
- There was a 33% degradation for total fetch.
- For a low bandwidth network (remote network):
- Compression has worse performance due to the multiple fetch and serialization cost.
- Results will vary with the type of data. If the data lends itself to compression, better performance will be achieved compared to non compression.
