The Aster Database ODBC driver requires that you install a driver manager. Check the Aster ODBC Driver Support Matrix and ensure you have the correct ODBC driver manager for your platform installed.

- For unixODBC Driver Manager: See Install and Configure unixODBC Driver Manager on Linux, Solaris, AIX, Mac OS.
- For DataDirect Driver Manager: You can find the supporting files in the ../stage/clients-odbc- <your_platform> /DataDirect/ directory created when you expanding the ODBC driver package. See Configure DataDirect Driver Manager on Linux and AIX.
- For iODBC driver manager: On Mac OS, you have the option of using the iODBC driver manager, version 3.52.3 instead of unixODBC driver manager. This driver and its documentation are available from http://www.iodbc.org.

On Linux, ensure that the LC_ALL environment variable is not empty and has been set correctly:
# export LC_ALL=C (if you use default locale setting)
# export LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8 (if you use UTF-8 as your locale setting)
