In Aster, the maximum supported precision for numerica/decimal data types is unlimited. In Informatica it is 28.
When exporting or importing to an Aster field with precision greater than 28, you must specify a precision of 28 or lower to avoid a this error: Requested conversion is not supported.
A number with precision greater than 28 will lose its precision during the transfer.
- In the PowerCenter Designer, use Source Analyzer or Target Designer to specify a precision of 28 or lower for a field that had precision greater than 28 in Aster database.
