When designing floor layouts, it is important to consider future growth.

Equipment floor layout is determined by:
  • Number of cabinets
  • Power consumption levels of all cabinets
  • Available floor space
  • Available cold air delivery capacity, including:
    • Cold air volume
    • Temperature of conditioned air
    • Cooling environment (such as open air, containment, liquid cooling, and so on)
Use cabinet power, cooling air information, and the following charts to determine how many tiles per cabinet are required in the floor layout.
The account team should use the Supply_Air_Power_Tool in Service Bulletin 502 (SB502) to determine specific supply air requirements in relation to different floor layouts.
Cabinet Power and Cooling Requiring 3 Tiles Per Cabinet

Cabinet Power and Cooling Requiring 4 Tiles Per Cabinet

Cabinet Power and Cooling Requiring 5 Tiles Per Cabinet
