Platform Framework Cabinet - In-Cabinet Server Management Network Topology for Servers and Switches

Platform Framework Cabinet - In-Cabinet Server Management Network Topology for 680 Platform

In a Teradata system, each Teradata cabinet contains server management components, which monitor and manage all chassis connected to the server management Ethernet network.

In a PFC cabinet:
  • The server management network uses two 24-port Ethernet switches.
    • One switch is for primary server management network connections.
    • One switch is for secondary server management connections.
  • Each managed chassis connects to both the primary and secondary Ethernet switches, or only the primary Ethernet switch, depending on the chassis.
  • Unmanaged chassis, such as KVMs and T610 SWSs, are not connected to either the primary or secondary Ethernet switch.
  • Each primary and secondary Ethernet switch in the cabinet connects to the server management network of the Teradata system.

For port-to-port cabling, see the appropriate Hardware Installation Guide.
