A schema is validated before it is published. A schema that fails validation cannot be published to the Teradata BI Model Repository, but it can be saved. See Saving a Schema to the File System.
If the schema fails to validate, no changes are made to the Teradata BI Model Repository.
For a schema to be published, Teradata Schema Workbench must be connected to a repository.
