The following table describes the storage option configurations available for DSU.

Storage Option Description
NFS environment for NFS mounted storage You can provide and manage a server that can serve an NFS environment, then create NFS mount points that are the target folders for backup files created by DSU backup jobs.
Data Domain with Boost In a DSU Data Domain for Boost configuration, DSA Network Client (ClientHandler) can connect directly to the Data Domain unit.
Data Domain for NFS storage You can mount Data Domain storage units to NFS mount points, which allows the system to function as an NFS environment.
NFS environment for managed storage server The managed storage server has drives that you can use as your storage solution if you set up an NFS environment. The NFS mount points are the target folders for backup files created by DSU backup jobs.
AWS S3 Account You can back up from on-premises to AWS S3 storage.
Azure Blob Storage You can back up from on-premises to Azure Blob storage.
