- Appliance base cabinet contains:
- up to four Teradata Connect nodes (not required for some configurations)
- one to 17 SAS worker nodes when one or more Teradata Connect nodes are present
- one to 18 SAS worker nodes if no Teradata Connect nodes are present
- power hardware
- one virtualized management server (VMS)
- one keyboard/video/mouse (KVM) chassis
- two InfiniBand switches
- Appliance expansion cabinet contains:
- up to four Teradata Connect nodes (not required for some configurations)
- one to 17 SAS worker nodes when one or more Teradata Connect nodes are present
- one to 18 SAS worker nodes if no Teradata Connect nodes are present

- InfiniBand cabinet
Each InifiniBand cabinet contains a 162-port or 324-port InfiniBand switch. InfiniBand cabinets are paired for redundancy. AC boxes in the cabinet provide power. Ethernet switches provide server management functionality. The 162-port InfiniBand cabinet can also contain one VMS, one KVM, and one to three TMS servers.
- Platform Framework Cabinet (PFC)
The PFC can contain a combination of channel servers, ECS servers, TMS servers, and other switches. The PFC can also be used to support system configurations that require a dedicated Service Workstation server. Other chassis in the cabinet provide power and server management functionality.
