Failure
Purpose
Indicates that the response to a request was not successfully processed by the Teradata server.
Usage Notes
In contrast to the Error parcel, the Failure parcel indicates that the Teradata SQL response has been discarded and the Teradata SQL request and transaction in which it was embedded, if any, have been aborted and backed out of the data base.
When ANSI transaction semantics are in effect, a Failure response parcel rolls back only the request causing the error unless that error threatens the integrity of the database, in which case the entire transaction is rolled back.
This parcel is generated by the Teradata server.
