Before you begin, set up your AWS account to make sure that you can perform the backup and restore operations with this account.
  1. Set up your IAM role under the root AWS account of your organization.
  2. Use access keys as AWS authentication credentials. Access keys credentials for your AWS account can be found in the IAM Console. If you have not generated one for your IAM user account, you can go to Manage Access Keys in AWS Console and generate a new set of keys (Access Key Id, Secret Access Key).
  3. Make sure you have create and access permissions to S3 and the bucket you will work on. If your security policy does not allow IAM users to create S3 buckets, ask your AWS root account holder to create one for you with read and write permissions.
