You might want to have criteria based on a sequence of events, such as the order that the customer viewed pages on your website. Sequence criteria are mainly used for determining the messages to present to customers based on web page clicks or page navigation during a single session.

This example shows how to set up a sequence criteria that evaluates to true if the customer has been to any landing page before the home page.

  1. For a criteria named Web Page Sequence, drag the Page attribute onto the canvas.
  2. Select Sequence from the Selection list.
  3. Add the first event:
    1. Click ADD EVENT +.
    2. Use these settings:
      Setting Value
      Condition Equals
      Value Home
    3. Click APPLY.
  4. Add the second event:
    1. Click ADD EVENT +.
    2. Use these settings:
      Setting Value
      Condition Starts With
      Value Landing
    3. Click APPLY.
  5. For the sequence order for the Equals Home event, select Most Recent.
  6. For the Starts With Landing event, select the relationship Before.
    You can reorder the events by dragging and dropping them.
  7. Click APPLY.
