Set Value

To...

0

fetch the next parcel. This is the default.

1

fetch the first parcel in the row number, specified by Positioning‑value for the statement and Positioning‑statement-number.

2

fetch bytes in the Binary Large Object (BLOB), beginning at the byte offset. Specified by Positioning-value for the statement and Positioning-statement-number. This may be done only if a single BLOB was selected using a locator.

3

fetch characters in the Character Large Object (CLOB), beginning at the character offset. Specified by Positioning-value for the statement and Positioning-statement-number. This may be done only if a single CLOB was selected using a locator.

Use of this option requires that Keep-response=P be specified when initiating the request.

Use of this setting does not require use of Change-option. That is, Positioning‑action overrides Change-option setting.
