To deploy Teradata Database on Azure, you must use a Teradata Database solution template. The solution template can also deploy an ecosystem, simultaneously deploying additional Teradata software products, which are automatically configured to work together.
The selected Teradata Database solution template determines whether you will purchase the software components separately or as a bundle, known as Teradata IntelliSphere. See Software Purchase Options.
Teradata Database license tiers include support for specific configurations. Each tier offers a different set of system concurrency and node limits, VM sizes, and the available database features. See Teradata Database License Tiers. For information about which database features require manual installation or configuration, see Teradata Database Features.
After you deploy a Teradata ecosystem, you cannot add or remove software products from a Teradata VM. If the Teradata VM does not include the software products you want, stop and deallocate the VM, and then deploy a new VM that includes those products with the Teradata Database.
You can also deploy some Teradata products separately. See Deploying Teradata Products Separately on Azure.
After deployment, additional configuration may be required. See Configuring Teradata Software for Azure.
Some Teradata products, including Teradata Tools and Utilities, are deployed in other ways. See Deploying Other Teradata Applications on Azure.
