The Vantage Analytics Library feature is available to Vantage customers at no cost.

Contact your Teradata representative to order the Vantage Analytics Library software package and schedule installation.

The installation and use of Vantage Analytics Library can potentially impact memory usage and scalability, which can reduce the number of functions that can run concurrently without affecting other running database workloads.

After Vantage Analytics Library installation, you can find examples that appear in this guide in /opt/teradata/val/2.2.0.0/examples/ on the node on which Vantage Analytics Library is installed. The jars of the VAL functions are installed on all the nodes. Examples can also be found at https://downloads.teradata.com/.

VantageCloud

VantageCloud is delivered as-a-service.
Vantage Offering Action
VantageCloud Enterprise Submit a change request from the Teradata support portal (https://support.teradata.com) to install Vantage Analytics Library.

New systems provisioned with Vantage version 2.4.1 or later include VAL. No change request necessary.
VantageCloud Lake No action needed. The analytics library is automatically available in VantageCloud Lake.
VantageCloud Lake is currently in limited availability. Contact your Teradata Account Representative for more information.

VantageCore

For Vantage Analytics Library installation on VantageCloud IntelliFlex or VantageCloud VMware, request VAL version 2.2.0.0 or later when submitting a change request to install the software package.

Confirm installed version

To determine the version of the Vantage Analytics Library currently installed on your system, run the following command:
call DB.td_analyze('version', '');

The statement returns a table with one row and one column containing the current Vantage Analytics Library Version. Do not leave spaces between the single quotes at the end of the statement.
