A distinct UDT is mapped to a single predefined Teradata data type.For example, a Euro UDT might be based on the predefined data type DECIMAL, but it would stand alone as a distinct data type.
- In the Navigator, expand Databases, right-click the SYSUDTLIB database, and select Show User-Defined Types.
- In the Object List Viewer toolbar, click .
- Click the General tab and enter values for the new UDT.
- Click the Options tab and enter values for the new UDT.

Click Open SQL in Editor to see the SQL code that will be executed on the connected system to create the new UDT.
The property form closes; you will still need to save the UDT after viewing the SQL.
- Click to save the field information and any SQL changes you made.
