For migrations from Linux systems running Teradata Database releases earlier than 14.10 or from non-Linux systems, the ARC utility in conjunction with BAR application software must be used to restore data; otherwise, the DSA or the ARC utility can be used.
Each site has established procedures for restoring data. Use the procedures established as standard for your site.
To properly run the post-restore scripts, you need to have stored the database DBC tables, journal tables, and user data tables in separate archive files. In addition, you need to have archived database DBC archival in a single stream. Any existing archives created using the multi-stream feature cannot be restored.
Some databases and objects cannot be restored on the destination system unless the related feature has been enabled on the destination system prior to restoration. Temporal and Columnar Partitioning as well as any other feature that must be purchased separately fall into this category.
