Before attempting to complete the procedures in this book, you must:
- Be trained on the administration and maintenance of the Teradata Database.
- Understand and know how to work with your operating system.
- For upgrades, read and become familiar with the concepts surrounding Teradata Database software upgrades in Teradata Database Node Software Upgrade Guide: Overview and Preparation.
- For upgrades, make sure that the Parallel Upgrade Tool (PUT) has been upgraded to the latest TDput version, available from the Teradata Software Server at http://tssprod.teradata.com:8080/TSFS/. This upgrade must be done by Teradata.
