Teradata recommends the following best practices for creating and managing passwords:
- Maintain a 6-character minimum length requirement
- Use a combination of uppercase, lowercase, numeric, and special characters
- Do not use the username or ‘passw’ as the password
- Do not use a password that contains 3 or more identical consecutive characters
- Do not reuse the last 6 passwords
- Change the default password
