The Teradata Appliance for Hadoop 3 and 4 platforms deliver an enterprise-ready appliance solution for storing, managing, refining, and analyzing big data, comprised of structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data. The appliance combines Hadoop and Aster Database software with best-in-class Teradata platform hardware.
The Teradata Appliance for Hadoop 3 and 4 platforms can be configured to contain only nodes for Hadoop, only Aster nodes, or a combination of nodes for Hadoop and Aster nodes. The cabinets can also contain generic TMS servers, Viewpoint TMS servers, and SAS HPA worker nodes in any combination. Teradata Appliance for Hadoop 3 and 4 nodes can coreside in the same cabinet.
Teradata Aster® Big Analytics Appliance 5 nodes, Teradata Appliance for Hadoop 5 nodes, and Teradata Appliance for Hadoop 6 nodes can be installed in the same cabinet. For further details about these nodes, see the respective Platform Product and Site Preparation Guide.
