Starting with TTU 17.20, the following two versions of CLIv2 run on z/OS:
- TDP-mediated mainframe CLI (MF-TDP CLI), refer to Teradata Call-Level Interface Version 2 Reference for Mainframe-Attached System, B035-2417)
- Gateway-mediated mainframe CLI (MF-GTW CLI). Here you can find MF-GTW CLI specific information.
MF-GTW CLI has the following advantages compared to the traditional CLIv2 for Mainframe-Attached Systems (MF-TDP CLI):
It does not need expensive hardware to support Teradata Channel Driver (TCHN) or Extended Channel Server (ECS).
- It can provide access to solutions that require interfacing with Teradata Gateway.
