The DBCAREA is initialized by clearing all fields and then copying the options fields from the clispb.dat file to the options fields of the DBCAREA. Any options not found in the clispb.dat file are copied from the internal CLI System Parameter Block. Control is returned to the application program and the interface is now ready to establish a session. If the return code in the DBCAREA is not normal, a major system error has occurred and the application will not be able to proceed.
