GDPR is designed to strengthen data privacy and increase consumers' control of their Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This information is a combination of a customer ID and some type of personal data. PII is data harvested from consumer’s interactions with enterprise organizations.

GDPR applies to all companies processing the PII data of data subjects residing in the EU, regardless of the company’s location, and it applies to data controllers, data processors, and data subjects. As such, GDPR requirements do not apply to all organizations, and due to this limitation, the Vantage CX GDPR solution might not impact all Teradata business partners.

GDPR regulation encompasses PII data collection, retention, portability, and deletion. Data retention means that PII data can only be stored for a time no longer than necessary for its purpose. Portability means that individuals have the right to request that their PII data be exported and sent to them via a common format. Data deletion means that individuals have the right to request that their PII data be deleted and receive confirmation of the deletion.
