ExternalBrowser authentication and the tab timeout property (BrowserTabTimeout) is only supported for Windows and macOS. This is equivalent to the JDBC Driver BROWSER_TAB_TIMEOUT connection parameter.
When using ExternalBrowser as the authentication mechanism, you can specify the number of seconds to wait before closing the browser tab after ExternalBrowser authentication is completed through the connection property BrowserTabTimeout.
BrowserTabTimeout – Number of seconds to wait before closing the browser authentication tab after completion. This is not a guarantee, and it is expected that the initial log on tab remain open. Default is 5 seconds, “-1” turn off closing, “0” close tab immediately.
The behavior is under the browser’s control and not all browsers support automatic closing of browser tabs. Typically, the tab used to log on will remain open indefinitely, but the second and subsequent tabs will be automatically closed. Specify “0” (zero) to close the tab immediately. Specify “-1” to turn off automatic closing of browser tabs.
