Use the BTEQ WIDTH and PAGELENGTH commands to specify the size of the paper for a report.
- 8-1/2 x11 inch – Width = 80 characters; length = 66 lines
- 11x14 inch – Width = 123 characters; length = 66 lines
For special nonstandard printer forms, it is necessary to measure them to determine the appropriate print width and length specifications.
Example – WIDTH and PAGELENGTH
To specify the width of the paper, enter:
.SET WIDTH n
where n is the number of print characters. The default value is 75, which is appropriate for a typical display screen.
To specify the length of the paper, enter:
.SET PAGELENGTH n
where n is the number of lines per page. The default value is 55, which leaves a print gap of 11 lines at the form perforations for several lines for headers and footers.
