  1. From the Data Flow Sources section of the Toolbox panel, drag an Aster Export Sourceinto the Data Flow pane.


  2. Double-click the data flow source you just added.
  3. In the Aster Export Source Editor, configure the Aster ODBC Connection Manager settings:
    1. From the Aster ODBC Connection Manager drop-down menu, choose <New>.


    2. In the Aster ODBC Connection Manager window, configure the Connection String Properties fields to point to your Aster Database.
    3. Click Test Connection to make sure that you can access the Aster Database and click OK. Click OK to close the Aster ODBC Connection Manager window.
  4. In the Aster Export Source Editor, configure the Aster Export Connection Manager settings:
    1. From the Aster Export Connection Manager drop-down menu, choose <New>.
    2. In the Aster Export Connection Manager window, specify the location of the ncluster_export.exe utility on your system.

      If the path to it is stored in an environment variable, set the Location Type to Environment Variable. Then, from the Environment Variable drop-down menu, choose the variable that contains the path.

      If you prefer specifying the path, set the Location Type to Folder Path. Then, in the Folder Path field, specify the path.

    3. Click OK to close the Aster Export Connection Manager window.
  5. In the Aster Export Source Editor window, from the “Select Aster table” drop-down menu, choose a table from your Aster Database:


    1. In the “Select Aster table columns” section, select or deselect the columns to export by checking the corresponding check box in the Include column.
    2. Click Preview to view what gets exported. Then click Done.


  6. In the Aster Export Source Editor window, click Columns.
    1. Map Aster Database types to SSIS data types.

    2. Click OK.
  7. In the Aster Export Source Editor window, click Columns.
    1. Choose to redirect rows containing errors to the Error Output of the Aster Export Source component.


    2. Click OK.
