Disaster recovery can become necessary even when steps are taken to protect Teradata Database, applications, and BAR servers from data corruption. For example, the BAR Server that contains the TARA Server Job Information Repository (JIR) might become corrupted before its scheduled backup. This can happen when several Teradata Database backups have been completed since the last backup of the TARA JIR.
