You can install a customized TDPUTCE in the z/OS environment during normal TDP operation.
Follow these steps to install a customized TDPUTCE under z/OS, where <dbcpfx> is the site’s prefix for z/OS client modules:
- Rename the current version of TDPUTCE (either as originally supplied on the release tape or as modified by your site) and retain it in the <dbcpfx>.TDPLOAD library. (This allows the installation to back out erroneous load modules.)
- Compile and link-edit the customized TDPUTCE module into the <dbcpfx>.TDPLOAD library as TDPUTCE with the options “RENT,REUS”.
- Install the customized TDPUTCE with SMP as a USERMOD to prevent overlaying the customized module with a replacement TDPUTCE module supplied in a later software release.
