Purpose
Controls the TDP identifier that normally appears before the message prefix. The initial setting is ON, which causes all messages to be preceded by the last character of the TDP identifier, a colon and a blank. OFF suppresses this TDP identifier prefix.
Syntax
where:
- ON
- Displays the TDP identifier prefix for all messages.
- OFF
- Suppresses display of the TDP identifier prefix for all messages.
- COM
- Displays the COMCHAR preceding the TDP identifier.
- NOCOM
- Suppresses the COMCHAR for all messages.
Usage Notes
Specifying MSGPREF OFF only does not suppress the COMCHAR, which precedes all TDP messages. To suppress the COMCHAR, specify NOCOM, which is optional. If NOCOM is specified, the communication character appears as a blank. When specifying these operands, ON or OFF must precede COM or NOCOM.
The default condition is ON and COM for all TDP messages.
Example: INITIAL MSGPREF
INIT MSGPREF OFF NOCOM
