  • This statement defines a compute group as a system-level database object.
  • You must have the CREATE COMPUTE GROUP privilege to define a compute group.
  • An error occurs if a compute group with the specified name exists.
  • The compute group information is recorded in the DBC.ComputeGroups data dictionary table.
  • The compute group creator automatically has the following privileges and is captured in the DBC.CloudGrants data dictionary table:
    • Access WITH GRANT OPTION on the compute group the user created.
    • CREATE COMPUTE PROFILE and DROP COMPUTE PROFILE WITH GRANT OPTION on the compute group the user created.
