PIVOT is a relational operator for transforming rows into columns. PIVOT allows you to aggregate and rotate data to create easy-to-read tables, and is therefore useful for reporting purposes. You can perform PIVOT aggregation on PIVOT column results by using the WITH clause.
Specify the PIVOT operator in the FROM clause of the SELECT statement. There are no restrictions on other clauses that can be specified with the SELECT query that include PIVOT operators.
