  1. Install Aster Extensions for KNIME .
  2. Connect the JDBC driver to Aster Database.
  3. If the Aster Database server is SSL-enabled, configure KNIME for clusters running SSL.
After this installation, the nodes that correspond to the Aster Analytics functions appear in the Teradata Aster branch of the KNIME Node Repository.
Before you can run an Aster Analytics function node, the corresponding function must be installed on the Aster Database. For instructions for installing Aster Analytics functions on Aster Database, see Installing Aster Analytics Functions.

The functionality of a node determines whether KNIME operates on the data in the database or fetches the data into the node's internal memory (that is, the memory allocated to KNIME on the local machine) for processing. Aster Analytics function nodes run on the cluster specified by the queen's IP address without fetching data into node's internal memory.
