PACKDISKを実行する前にFerretユーティリティのSHOWFSPコマンドを使用して、PACKDISKコマンドの効果を予想します。SHOWFSPは、圧縮が十分でないテーブルを見つけるために役立ちます。
SHOWFSPコマンドは、PACKDISKによって解放できるシリンダ数の概算を示します。これは、解放されるシリンダの正確な数と一致することも一致しないこともあります。PACKDISKがSHOWFSPとは非常に異なる解放シリンダ数を報告していると感じる場合には、DEFRAGコマンドを使用してデフラグを実行します。
